My Insights is Callings.ai's AI-powered self-discovery suite that transforms your resume into actionable career intelligence, including a personalized questionnaire, clearly defined career goals, an ideal job profile that serves as your north star, ready-to-use personal branding elements like elevator pitches and professional summaries, and a market fit analysis that maps your skills to current and emerging market conditions.
Note: All My Insights content is generated using your "primary" resume (the resume marked Primary in your profile). If you have multiple resumes uploaded, ensure the one you want used is set as your primary.
"My Insights" is the brain of your job hunt. It's where we translate your raw resume into a structured career profile that serves as your personal reference throughout your job search.

After you upload your resume, our AI generates a personalized questionnaire to help you clarify your goals. Based on your resume and your answers to these questions, we then generate four reports that help you understand yourself, tell your story better, and map your career to the market.
Important: Everything we generate is a first draft and fully editable. You can review, refine, and make it your own. You can also regenerate any section at any time based on an updated resume or additional information you provide.
The foundation. These are specific questions generated by the AI based on your unique background (e.g., "What type of partnerships have been most rewarding?"). Going through these questions helps you in two ways: you gain clarity about what you're looking for, and you practice articulating your goals—which is invaluable for networking conversations and interviews.
The following four reports are generated based on your resume AND your answers to the questionnaire:
What do you want? We help you identify and prioritize your needs, wants, and non-negotiables for your next role. This isn't just about money; it's about culture, responsibility, and industry.
What does your resume say you're looking for? We generate a profile of your "ideal" job based on the information you've shared—especially your resume and questionnaire answers. This includes a synthetic job description, suggested job titles, a hero image of your ideal environment, and an inspirational 90th-day story. Think of this as a north star: if this ideal job doesn't match what you actually want, it's a signal that your resume may not be representing your true goals. Use this insight to align your resume with your aspirations.
Who are you? We distill your complex background into a clear, compelling personal brand. This includes elevator pitches (20-second and 2-minute), professional summaries, headlines, your unique differentiators, top skills, and key achievements--all ready to use in LinkedIn profiles, networking emails, and interviews.
Where do you fit in the market? We analyze your professional profile against current and emerging market conditions to give you a strategic, macro-level view of your career. This includes your historical market fit, future trend alignment, risk factors, marketable skills, target sectors, and actionable recommendations for career positioning. Think of it as a career intelligence briefing that helps you understand where your relevance lies and where the opportunities are.
Q: How accurate are the AI-generated insights?
A: Think of them as strong starting points. Review each section and edit anything that doesn't feel right. Once you've refined them, they become your personal reference documents.
Q: Do I have to answer all the questions in the My Goals Questionnaire?
A: No, but the more questions you work through, the better clarity you'll have about what you're looking for. It's an exercise in self-reflection and articulation.
Q: Can I skip the insights and just search for jobs?
A: You can, but we recommend spending some time on your insights. This exercise helps you clarify your thinking and creates reference documents you can use throughout your job search.
Q: What happens if I update my insights later?
A: Your insights are your personal reference—update them whenever your priorities shift. You can save them as PDFs to create a collection of reference documents that capture your goals and personal brand at different points in your career.
Q: Are my insights shared with employers?
A: No. Your insights are for your use only. They are personal reference documents to help you stay focused and articulate your story.
Q: How often should I update my insights?
A: Review them every 2-3 months or whenever your priorities shift. Major life events (relocation, skill acquisition, career pivot) are good times to refresh.
Q: If I have multiple resumes, which one is used for insights?
A: All insights (Questionnaire, Goals, Ideal Job, Personal Branding) are generated from your primary resume only. If you want insights based on a different resume, change which resume is marked as primary.
Q: What happens to my questionnaire answers if I change my primary resume?
A: Your existing questionnaire answers remain saved. However, if you click "Regenerate Questionnaire," the system will generate new questions based on the new primary resume and your old answers will be permanently lost.
Q: What's the difference between the Regenerate buttons?
A: There are two different regenerate actions:
- Regenerate Questionnaire: Destructive—replaces ALL questions with new ones based on your current primary resume. Your previous answers are lost.
- Regenerate Reports (Goals/Ideal Job/Branding): Regenerates only the AI reports using your current questionnaire answers + primary resume. Does NOT affect your questionnaire or answers.
Q: Does editing an answer trigger regeneration?
A: No. Editing an answer saves it immediately (auto-save). The regenerate buttons do NOT affect your saved answers—they only regenerate content when you explicitly click them.
Q: Should I download my questionnaire before regenerating?
A: Yes! If you've invested time answering questions and plan to regenerate the questionnaire (not just the reports), download the PDF first to preserve your answers. You can use them as reference when answering the new questions.
You don't just read these insights; you use them.
- Reflect: Use the reports to clarify your own thinking.
- Edit: If the AI gets something wrong, correct it to make it your own.
- Apply: Use the generated "Brand Elements" in your LinkedIn profile, networking emails, and interviews.
- Reference: Save as PDFs to keep as career documents you can revisit over time.
Self-awareness is your secret weapon in the job search. By understanding your goals, defining your ideal role, and articulating your personal brand, you transform from a passive applicant into a focused professional who knows exactly what you want—and can communicate that clarity to everyone who can help you get there.
