**Job Summary**
This position is responsible for traffic engineering and design and will assist in a wide variety of related projects. Projects will include traffic signal design, traffic studies, traffic impact analyses, corridor studies, ITS design, safety studies, traffic signal timing and pedestrian facilities design.

**Overview**
The Project Manager - Traffic Signals oversees, coordinates, and manages all project logistics for city approved transportation contracts and projects. Coordinates logistics, personnel, permitting, and general scheduling to ensure efficient project delivery.
**Essential Functions**
**1** Manages, coordinates, and facilitates all transportation projects and activities for the City of Dallas; monitors construction and installation activities, provides assistance, and manages project scope and completion.
**2** Tracks and oversees the implementation of transportation department objectives and contracts; makes and monitors schedules, manages budget and funding, communicates scope of work related to contracts and objectives, and moves the project to completion.
**3** Learns and implements new processes and procedures to enhance and support the transportation goals of the City; participates in professional development and program management to ensure highly skilled project management
**4** Proactively manages, monitors, and plans transportation project budgets; determines labor, general expenses, and contract requirements.
**5** Reviews, processes, and handles internal requests for the transportation department for meetings, documents, and project updates.
**6** Researches, plans, designs, specifies, and communicates project goals and objectives; fosters collaboration and communication to achieve desired outcome and manages projects through completion.
**7** Provides direction for other staff involved in transportation projects and initiatives.
**8** Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
**Knowledge and Skills**
**1** Knowledge of City transportation goals and objectives.
**2** Knowledge of transportation planning and contract development.
**3** Knowledge of project management and coordination.
**4** Knowledge of budget development and implementation.
**5** Ability to interpret and apply contract specifications.
**6** Ability to work with technical and construction staff to implement project goals.
**7** Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
**8** Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION:**
* Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field.
**EXPERIENCE:**
* Five (5) years of experience in traffic engineering which included managing projects from conception to completion.
**EQUIVALENCY(IES):**
* Master’s degree or higher in a stated field plus four (4) years of the required experience will meet the education and experienced requirements.
**LICENSE(S) and/or CERTIFICATION(S):**
* Professional Engineer License. (Professional Engineers with license/registration from other states must obtain the Texas license within six (6) months after appointment.)
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS:**
* Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional time as needed to meet project deadlines.
**Salary Range**
$89,440.00 - $111,800.00
