Vice President, Strategy and Execution

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of VP, Strategy and Execution to join our Structured Debt Platform. This role is located in New York, NY.

Role Summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Strategy and Execution to serve as a key partner to leadership within the Structured Debt Platform. This role sits at the intersection of strategic planning, execution oversight, and executive communications, helping convert platform priorities into actionable plans, decision-ready materials, and measurable outcomes.

The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, operating as a highly trusted partner who can quickly absorb complex business, operational, and technology topics and translate them into clear recommendations, structured action plans, and executive-ready presentations. This individual will play an important role in advancing priority initiatives, supporting governance and leadership routines, and stepping into in-flight workstreams to help accelerate progress, align stakeholders, and represent the platform effectively in senior forums.

Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with Structured Debt Platform leadership to support strategic priorities, execution planning, and ongoing business management needs.

Translate complex ideas, analyses, and cross-functional updates into clear, concise, executive-ready presentations, briefing materials, and leadership communications.

Support the development of strategic plans, platform priorities, governance materials, and execution roadmaps.

Lead or support high-priority ad hoc initiatives across the platform, often requiring rapid ramp-up and effective navigation of ambiguity.

Step into in-flight projects to quickly assess objectives, status, key risks, dependencies, and stakeholder dynamics, and help drive momentum toward decisions and delivery.

Synthesize large volumes of information into structured recommendations, decision materials, action plans, and concise senior management updates.

Represent the Structured Debt Platform with credibility and sound judgment in meetings and working sessions involving senior stakeholders.

Track follow-ups, action items, risks, dependencies, and decisions across key initiatives to improve execution discipline and transparency.

Partner across business, operations, technology, and supporting functions to drive alignment, remove obstacles, and maintain progress against priority outcomes.

Help bring structure and clarity to evolving issues by identifying themes, framing trade-offs, and supporting practical decision-making.

Contribute to a high-performance execution environment by combining analytical rigor, responsiveness, and strong communication.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

5-8 years in strategy, execution, business management, chief of staff, transformation, consulting, or a related role within a complex organization.

Demonstrated ability to translate complex business, operational, or technology topics into executive-ready presentations, papers, and communications.

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect high-level priorities to practical execution.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging for senior leadership audiences.

Proven ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced, high-visibility environments.

Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work across functions and levels of seniority.

Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and the ability to quickly ramp up in unfamiliar subject areas.

Strong organizational discipline, sound judgment, and attention to detail in managing follow-ups, risks, and interdependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in financial services, with exposure to structured debt, loans, trust, asset servicing, or similarly complex platform-based businesses.

Experience supporting senior executives, governance forums, or enterprise-level strategic initiatives.

Background in cross-functional program delivery, transformation, or platform execution within a matrixed environment.

Experience preparing materials for executive committees, operating reviews, leadership meetings, or other senior governance routines.

Strong executive presence and the ability to represent a platform or business area confidently in senior stakeholder settings.

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents.
