Build a new engineering team from the ground up, defining the charter, hiring founding engineers, and establishing architecture for the Core OS layer.
**The Role**
As Senior Software Engineering Manager, Core OS, you will build this team from the ground up. You'll define the charter, hire the founding engineers, set the architecture, and establish how the Core OS layer interfaces with the silicon, guest OS, and vehicle program teams around it. You will be accountable for both standing up the team and delivering its first production milestones.
**Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
**10+ years of professional experience**
**5+ years of engineering leadership experience**, including leading senior engineers and managers, with a proven record of scaling teams and delivering results.
Proven ability to **drive large-scale software programs to completion**, including milestone planning, risk management, and cross-team coordination.
Strong technical credibility paired with the ability to set vision, influence architecture, and drive execution across multiple teams.
Proficiency with modern engineering practices - Git/GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing including bench and HIL, boot and performance KPI instrumentation, and large-scale release processes. **What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)****12+ years of professional experience**
Experience delivering software to **ISO 26262** functional safety requirements (up to ASIL-D) and **ISO/SAE 21434** cybersecurity requirements.
Experience with **container runtimes and orchestration in resource-constrained or embedded environments**.
Familiarity with **Yocto Linux, Android (AOSP/Android Automotive), and QNX SDP** as guest or host environments.
Experience with automotive platform standards and practices - Adaptive AUTOSAR, SOAFEE, OTA and continuous update architectures.
