Oversee support operations personnel, manage administrative tasks, budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance for gas construction and distribution services.
The Manager of Gas Work Management Support Operations is responsible for overseeing all activities performed by Support Operations personnel in support of Gas Construction and Gas Distribution Services. The Manager oversees a high volume of administrative work pertaining to job records, personnel matters, scheduling of training, inventory control, purchasing and accounts payable.
The Manager performs other duties and special projects when required. The Manager must be independent, possess excellent interpersonal skills, interface and interact with internal and external customers and make decisions to resolve various issues in accordance with Company Policy and procedures.
This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.
ResponsibilitiesCore ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the scheduling, monitoring, and oversight of the departments activities to ensure compliance with all company specifications, city, state and federal regulations. This includes administrative tasks associated with capital, maintenance, and inspection work. Provide positive customer experience by scheduling appointments, responding to customer inquiries and claims. Responsible for the development and ongoing monitoring of the departments operating budget and the correlation of financial and operational information to improve the overall performance of the department. Assist GM/Support Manager and field forces as needed, perform special projects, and attend various committee meetings with regards to the design and implementation of new automated systems that will aide in productivity improvements. Act as the localized expert with regards to implementing and instructing area personnel with the usage of such systems. Oversight of the NOV process to ensure that the administrative staff responds in a timely manner in order to reduce company cost. Ensure that all systems (Gas Central, GRMS, CC&B, CPMS, Adept, Oracle, CRMS, NOV, etc.) are used to ensure productivity performance and reporting. Coordinate with other departments, when necessary, to obtain information needed for the efficient operation of the department and Gas organization. Identify and recommend work practice changes where the operating areas can perform work functions more efficiently and effectively as it pertains to regulatory compliance. Develop innovative and effective strategies to improve the way we do business - partnering with the operating areas to implement change. Manage, supervise, and provide direction to assigned staff, ensuring effective performance and accountability. Perform other related assignments as necessary.
QualificationsRequired Education/ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or Engineering, or other relevant subject area and 3 years of full-time related experience or Associate's Degree and 5 years of full-time related experience or High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of full-time related experience.
Relevant Work Experience 3 years' work experience in developing and monitoring budgets, programs and goals, required. Experience of Con Edisons General Accounting systems, Oracle, and BI, required. Experience in the system programs such as CC&B, Gas Central Suite applications, Employee HUB, eGIS, CRMS, CPMS, NYC Streets, required. Minimum of 2 years of Supervisory experience, required. Solid background knowledge of the Company's Gas, Steam, and Electric Distribution Systems with experience in Engineering, Contract Administration, Major Construction Programs and mitigation of their impact on affected areas, preferred.

Additional Physical DemandsThe selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
