Senior Software Engineer, Backend

About the RoleJoin a growing engineering team at a consumer gaming company, building backend systems and features that support its core business. You will take ownership of projects from idea through delivery and help the team move quickly as it grows. What You'll DoBuild consumer-facing backend features that contribute to key business metrics.

Develop data-driven systems for challenges such as matchmaking and fraud prevention.

Improve engineering processes, including CI/CD pipelines and experimentation platforms, to help the team ship efficiently.

Take initiative in identifying projects and carry them through to completion with limited direction.

What We're Looking ForFive to eight years of backend software engineering experience.

Proficiency in Go, or the ability and willingness to ramp up quickly; experience with Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform is relevant.

Experience delivering consumer-facing backend features end to end with measurable business impact.

Background in a fast-growing startup or a high-performing engineering environment, with the ability to work effectively outside highly process-heavy organizations.

Experience with data-driven systems such as matchmaking, fraud prevention, or recommendation engines is valuable.

Experience with real-time features, payments, consumer gaming applications, CI/CD, or experimentation platforms is a plus.

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field is preferred.

Compensation & BenefitsBase salary: $200,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LocationOn-site in San Francisco, California, United States.
