Senior Software Engineer — Full-Stack & Platform

Build and scale Blooio's core platform across backend infrastructure, APIs, and customer-facing applications, working directly with the founding team.

About the Role

Blooio is a fast-growing SaaS company building the next generation of business messaging infrastructure. Our platform enables businesses to communicate with customers through Apple Messages for Business and other modern messaging channels using powerful APIs, integrations, and automation tools.

We're looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to work directly with our founding team to build and scale Blooio's core platform.

This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering position with significant ownership. You'll work across backend infrastructure, APIs, databases, customer-facing applications, and internal systems.

We're looking for someone who can independently solve complex technical problems, write clean and scalable code, and turn ideas into reliable, production-ready software.

You'll have a direct impact on our architecture, product development, and engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and core messaging infrastructure.
• Develop features across the customer dashboard, internal tools, and web applications.
• Build REST APIs, webhooks, third-party integrations, and automated workflows.
• Improve system reliability, performance, security, and scalability as messaging volume grows.
• Help design robust, maintainable systems capable of handling real-time messaging and high-throughput workloads.
• Work directly with the founders to turn product requirements into fully functional features.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve engineering practices.
• Independently lead projects from initial design through development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally building SaaS platforms or developer-focused products.
• Strong backend engineering experience with modern languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Postgres, and more.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Next.js and React.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
• Experience working with relational databases, caching systems, and message queues.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and production deployments.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining production-grade systems.
• Strong debugging skills, engineering judgment, and attention to performance and security.
• Ability to independently own projects and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Comfortable collaborating directly with founders and taking responsibility for technical outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time high-volume event processing, AI integrations, or database architecture.
• Intelligent use of AI for developing.
