About the team: The Industrial Engineering and Program Management team is a lean group of engineers and managers that work with a wide range of technical and business teams to optimize operations and industrialize QuantumScape Battery’s revolutionary technology. The team is involved in day-to-day operations and long-term planning. The team utilizes this wide range of knowledge and vision to drive critical programs to completion.

What we need: We’re looking for a dedicated Technical Program Manager to join our Industrial Engineering and Program Management team. In this role, you will join a team helping QuantumScape to enhance our project capabilities, track and maintain schedules, implement project budgets, and drive projects to completion. Our ambitions are to drive new technology and industrialization programs to bring QuantumScape’s battery technology to the global market. This position will manage next generation battery technology programs and cost scaling programs. This is a sophisticated endeavor requiring close coordination of multiple internal teams and outside vendors including Construction, Facilities, EH&S, Machine Design, Process Development, New Product Introduction, Technology Systems, Supply Chain and Finance teams.

What You’ll do:

Coordinate across multiple technical and business teams to deliver the next generation of battery technology

Build and maintain integrated program plans that connect hardware, process, product, and supply chain work streams into a single coherent schedule

Identify, quantify, and drive resolution of technical and schedule risks

Align different teams across workstreams to remove roadblocks and unexpected schedule events

Generate and own cost model to forecast product cost at scale

Develop and drive roadmap to reduce product cost

Present on regular cadence program reviews to executive leadership

Skills You’ll Need:

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and the ability to utilize pivot tables and generate useful reports

Experience with PLM systems

Experience in cost reduction programs at a product and process level

Experience in scaling a product or operating at high manufacturing volumes

Must have highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills

3 -5 Years experience in program management or manufacturing engineering

B.A./B.S. required preferably in engineering, engineering management, or engineering operations

Nice to have:

1-2 years’ experience with the following system: Enovia, Delmia or similar PLM system

PMP certification

Physical requirements:

Work is performed in a dry room or lab area requiring the use of fine motor skills

Sitting or standing for extended periods of time

Lifting up to 25 lbs.

ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position.  As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits: Expected salary range for this role is from $123,800 to $188,800 and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience, educational background and internal equity. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan.
