About this role

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).

Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Preferred qualifications: Experience with media applications or core media technologies.

Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, legal and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience working collaboratively with key industry partners.

Knowledgeable across many functional areas: product management, engineering, hardware integrations, sales, customer support, finance, and marketing.

Demonstrated success driving alignment across various cross-functional teams without formal authority.

We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

The mission of the Chrome Open Media team is to develop frontier media technologies that allow for the efficient storage, transport, and enhancement of media files. This team produces innovative technologies to enhance video and to enable the efficient compression of 3D geometric meshes and point clouds. You will be responsible for driving product vision for our advanced visual capabilities and geometry compression technologies. You will work extensively with industry and research partners and organizations with which we collaborate to develop and standardize many of these technologies. You should be comfortable with managing questions for which there may be no clear answers and to think strategically. You will work closely with a team of highly experienced engineers, internal users and collaborators, and a broad range of external partners. Chrome is dedicated to building a better, more open web. We’re focused on making a better browser (on both desktop and mobile) to help users take advantage of all the web has to offer in a safe and secure way.Chrome is available across all major platforms — iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. We also built Chrome as an open source project so the entire web ecosystem could benefit from the latest innovations in speed, simplicity and security. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Set product requirements and manage launch of next-generation HDR, geometry compression, and related technologies.

Identify market opportunities and define product strategy, as well as understand customer needs and gather product requirements.

Advocate our technologies to internal and external partners.

Track developments in the media ecosystems and identify opportunities for new products and features.

Work closely with engineering teams to help manage a reasonable schedule for execution.
