About ResortPass
The #1 Day Guest Marketplace, driving ancillary revenue for hotels, resorts, and spas. ResortPass redefines what it means to be a guest and enables locals and travelers alike to enjoy your luxurious amenities and unique offerings for the day.
Responsibilities
Public API & Integrations: Design and launch the external ResortPass API with versioned contracts (pricing, availability, holds, bookings, changes, and cancellations), creating reusable connector patterns for PMS and POS partner integrations.
Core Booking Domain: Evolve a flexible domain model (products, inventory, pricing, schedules) built to support new categories like events or food & beverage without creating separate systems.
Resilience & Reliability: Ensure robust failure handling and transaction safety through idempotency, reconciliation, webhooks, retries, and clean data contracts for OpenSearch inventory discovery.
Operations & Observability: Establish latency and availability targets, implementing testing, tracing, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks for the critical booking path.
Technical Leadership: Turn partner requirements into long-term platform capabilities, make clear architecture tradeoffs, and mentor engineers through practical reviews and standards.
Requirements
Proven Experience: 6+ years in software engineering with a track record of designing transactional systems, external APIs, and integration platforms while safely evolving production data models.
Distributed Systems & Architecture: Deep understanding of relational modeling, concurrency, consistency, asynchronous workflows, and distributed failure handling.
Domain Modeling: Expertise in turning complex business rules into clear system boundaries, lifecycle states, contracts, and invariants.
Technical Leadership: Ability to serve as the primary builder and owner of critical systems while collaborating on foundational architectural decisions.
Quality & Observability: Strong focus on correctness, comprehensive testing, system observability, and safe rollout practices.
Collaboration & Communication: Clear, direct communicator who listens effectively and elevates the engineering quality of surrounding team members.
