Lead and grow a high-performing HVAC organization by overseeing daily operations, driving financial performance, and developing team members.
This position requires extensive HVAC leadership experience and an active Virginia HVAC license. Candidates without HVAC industry management experience and the active license will not be considered. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and grow a high-performing HVAC organization in the Richmond/Ashland, VA market. This individual will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving financial performance, developing team members, and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who can unite teams, inspire performance, and implement operational best practices while delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires a strong HVAC background, business acumen, and the ability to effectively manage service, installation, sales, and administrative functions. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development Provide strong leadership and direction to service, installation, sales, and administrative teams. Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative company culture. Develop and mentor managers, supervisors, and team members to achieve individual and organizational goals. Lead team meetings, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching initiatives. Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development efforts. Build alignment across departments and create a unified, customer-focused team environment.
Operational Management Oversee all day-to-day HVAC operations, including service, maintenance, installation, and customer support. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence. Improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability through process optimization. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards. Collaborate with department leaders to manage scheduling, staffing, inventory, and fleet operations.
Financial & Business Performance Manage company budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Analyze operational and financial data to drive strategic decision-making. Monitor revenue, gross margin, labor efficiency, and overall profitability. Develop and execute growth strategies to increase market share and customer retention. Ensure achievement of company revenue and profitability goals.
Customer Experience Champion a customer-first culture across all departments. Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality. Implement systems and processes that enhance the customer journey.
Technology & Systems Utilize ServiceTitan to monitor business performance, reporting, scheduling, dispatching, and operational metrics. Leverage data and reporting tools to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements. Drive adoption of technology and best practices throughout the organization.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Active Virginia HVAC License (Required). 5–10 years of progressive management experience within the HVAC industry. Proven experience leading multi-department HVAC operations, including service and installation teams. Strong experience using ServiceTitan or similar HVAC service management software. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and unify teams toward common goals. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&Ls, and operational performance. Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills. Experience developing and implementing operational processes and performance metrics. Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Ashland/Richmond, VA area.
