## About the Software Engineer (SWE) role
* The Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements * Works individually or as part of a team * Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results * Resolves software problem reports * Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment * Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
## What you'll do
The Software Engineer (SWE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) shall possess the following capabilities:
* Provide the bridge between Program end users of the software/application to be delivered and those who are architecting engineering and/or developing the software/application * Support the development, review, and analysis of Program CONOPs, requirements, scenarios and use cases that accurately reflect end users' needs * Assist in the development, organization, and articulation of Program expectation to support test planning and operational evaluation activities * Support information management transformation is preserved across programmatic and acquisition activities * Articulate/white board ideas to all levels of management * Provide lifecycle sustainment support * Be cognizant of all operational requirements, ensuring that the spirit of the requirements is preserved across programmatic and acquisition activities * Apply comprehensive application knowledge for guidance to the functional team * Lead requirements analysis and develop implementation strategy
## What you'll bring
Qualifications:
* A Master's Degree in a Computer Science related field with eight (8) years experience in the following software/application development, design, architecture, or sustainment * A Bachelor's Degree with ten (10) years experience * an Associate's Degree with twelve (12) years experience may be substituted for the Master's Degree * No degree with fifteen (15) years experience in field in acceptable
