Weeghman & Briggs is seeking a motivated and mission-driven Software Engineer 1 to support critical government initiatives in Columbia, MD.

Telework 2 days/week, subject to manager approval and tasking

What You'll Do

Support mission-critical programs in secure government environments

Analyze requirements and translate them into actionable solutions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results

Ensure compliance with contract and security standards

Contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and performance

Design, develop, and maintain web-based analysis tools

Develop custom software and deployment configurations

Perform application modernization and cloud migration

Implement CI/CD pipelines

Deploy and test software

Create infrastructure through code, software re-architecture and documentation

What You Bring

Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Experience supporting government or DoD programs

Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience implementing AWS Services in production, On-prem and cloud architecture software implementation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development

7 years with a Bachelor's in Computer Science (or related field) or 11 years without the degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant certifications (Security+, CISSP, PMP, AWS, etc.)

Agile, cloud, or modernization experience

Background in process improvement or analytical services

Experience with Java, JavaScript, React, containerized architecture, Docker, Helm, CI/CD, Spring, REST Services, and Databases
