We are representing an established commercial mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex HVAC and mechanical piping projects throughout the Chicago market.

The company specializes in commercial, institutional, healthcare, and government projects, providing complete HVAC installations, piping systems, ductwork, and BIM coordination services. This is an opportunity for an experienced project leader to take ownership of projects from preconstruction through final completion.

Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial mechanical projects from planning and preconstruction through execution and closeout.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, procurement, labor coordination, and overall profitability.
• Manage customer relationships, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Coordinate HVAC, ductwork, hydronic piping, chilled water, steam, and specialty piping installations.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and project schedules.
• Manage change orders, cost tracking, forecasting, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with BIM and engineering teams to ensure proper system design and installation.
• Maintain project quality, safety, and schedule expectations.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in commercial mechanical construction.
• Proven experience managing HVAC and mechanical piping projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction, mechanical systems, and project execution.
• Experience overseeing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field operations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination, prefabrication, and mechanical construction technology is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Project Experience: Commercial high-rise construction, healthcare facilities, hospitals, educational institutions, government facilities, mechanical retrofits, and large-scale HVAC installations.
