Pay: $115,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience
About the company A design-build general contractor in the Chicago area, building industrial and commercial projects for developers, REITs, brokerage firms and end users.
MUST HAVES 5+ years as a project manager with a general contractor or design-builder
Industrial or commercial ground-up work (warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, build-to-suit)
Strong with budgets, buyout and owner-facing reporting
Experience with developer or REIT clients
Lives within reach of the Chicago area
Steady tenure with past employers
The role You'll lead design-build projects from preconstruction through closeout. You'll own the budget, schedule and client relationship, and work hand in hand with the superintendent in the field.
What you'll do Run industrial and commercial design-build projects: warehouse and distribution, manufacturing, build-to-suit and tenant work
Coordinate design consultants and drive the design to budget
Buy out the job, write subcontracts and manage subcontractors
Own the schedule, cost reports, change orders and pay applications
Be the main point of contact for owners, developers and brokers
Close out projects: punch lists, warranties and turnover
RequirementsQualifications 5+ years as a project manager with a general contractor or design-builder
Industrial or commercial ground-up work
Tilt-up or precast and pre-engineered metal buildings are a plus
Strong with budgets, buyout and owner-facing reporting
Experience with developer or REIT clients
Lives within reach of the Chicago area and works on site as projects need
Steady tenure with past employers
