Mid-Level Software Engineer, Backend / Full Stack

About the RoleJoin an engineering team at a fintech payments infrastructure company building systems that support nonprofit payments at scale. You will own backend and full-stack work from architecture through production, with a direct role in shaping technical decisions and product improvements. What You'll DoBuild and own backend applications and components across the payment platform, from design through production.

Contribute to architecture decisions for APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure, and help establish engineering standards.

Work closely with product and engineering teammates in design discussions and technical reviews.

Improve real-time monitoring and alerting to understand system and user behavior.

Take on projects across the platform, contributing wherever the team needs support.

What We're Looking ForTwo to ten years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of building and owning scalable systems end to end.

A bachelor's degree in a technical field and strong software engineering fundamentals.

Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes, plus familiarity with AWS and Terraform.

Proficiency in Go or Node.js, and experience with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and gRPC.

Experience at an established company or startup; fintech or payments infrastructure experience is helpful.

Experience working in person in the United States and recent professional engineering experience.

Clear communication, sound technical judgment, and comfort working in a fast-moving environment.

Compensation & BenefitsAnnual salary range: $180,000 to $230,000. Visa sponsorship is available. LocationOn-site in New York, New York, United States.
