About this role

Responsibilities

Arcfield is seeking an experienced Mission / Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced space-based sensing and mission capabilities supporting US Space Force and national security. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys understanding complex mission needs, working directly with government users and stakeholders, and translating operational objectives into clear engineering activities, requirements, and mission concepts.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary mission engineering team, supporting senior technical leadership while taking ownership of mission and requirements-focused engineering activities. This individual will engage with government customers and users to understand operational needs, analyze and synthesize information from multiple technical and requirements sources, and contribute to mission concepts, CONOPS, requirements, architecture, and solution development.

This role requires someone who can move comfortably between operational and technical perspectives. The ideal candidate can ask the right questions, identify relationships and gaps across complex documentation, communicate technical findings clearly, and help translate ambiguous mission needs into actionable engineering problems.

Responsibilities

Support mission and systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle, from mission concept and requirements development through development, integration, test, deployment, and operations. Engage directly with government customers, mission users, and technical stakeholders to understand operational needs, mission objectives, priorities, constraints, and challenges. Support and participate in user engagements, working groups, technical discussions, and stakeholder reviews, helping capture and communicate mission needs and engineering considerations. Develop and refine mission concepts, CONOPS, requirements assessments, requirements, user engagement materials, briefings, and related engineering products. Analyze requirements and technical documentation from multiple sources to identify commonality, overlap, gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies, and areas requiring further clarification. Translate operational and mission needs into actionable systems engineering activities and support requirements development, decomposition, allocation, and traceability. Support requirements and architecture assessments by identifying technical, operational, and mission-level implications. Participate in technical reviews and help identify risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and areas requiring additional analysis. Maintain awareness of related engineering efforts and help identify opportunities for integration, reuse, and alignment across technical threads.
