The Position: The General Manager, reporting to the Regional VP of Operations, is responsible for overall management of the operation and facility(s).  Will oversee all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sales and improve revenue, maintain relationships with clients, enhance the organization's image, and meet overall growth objectives.

This position works Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm.

The compensation range for this position is $160K-$175K, depending on experience.

How You'll Make an Impact:

Overall accountability: Safe, efficient, economical warehouse operation across staffing, operations, maintenance, safety/security/housekeeping/sanitation, budgeting, customer service, and inventory control.

Leadership & strategy: Provide daily oversight and strategic vision; develop quarterly/annual/long-range plans; communicate company vision and objectives to staff; report to Regional VP on cost, service, and efficiency issues, including Performance Improvement audit findings.

Financial & performance management: Build and achieve P&L, SLAs, and KPI goals; prepare budgets, revenue projections, and account analysis; report on progress; use measurement systems to evaluate productivity, quality, and variance from standards.

Client & quality management: Handle escalations for clients of all sizes, balancing client needs with company interests; oversee root-cause investigation of Nonconformance Reports and implementation of Corrective Actions.

Operational efficiency: Direct programs for cost-effective warehouse operation and utilization; develop space utilization plans to optimize storage and minimize inefficiency.

Asset stewardship & relationships: Steward business assets; build and maintain clear communication with customers and employees; partner with Regional VP of Operations, Strategic Account Management, Business Process Optimization, Customer Service, Finance, and HR to identify opportunities and resolve issues.

Talent development: Attract, develop, and retain high-performing, diverse talent; mentor and role-model to build future leaders; set clear goals/expectations for leadership team with ongoing training; support hiring, onboarding, training, and development of all warehouse staff.

Communication: Ensure daily goals, facility information, and company-wide updates are clearly and promptly communicated to all staff.

Continuous improvement & culture: Champion the GGOB program (targets, results, productivity/customer-experience mini games); foster continuous improvement through collaboration and teamwork.

Compliance & facility upkeep: Ensure OSHA/MSDS compliance; monitor warehouse for cleanliness, security, and organization; maintain physical condition via inspections and work orders for repairs/replacements; perform other related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required.  Master’s preferred.  May consider 15+ years of industry related experience in lieu of college degree.

Ten plus (10+) years of demonstrated supervisory experience required (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment)

Working knowledge of Inventory control, cycle counts, and a proven track record of inventory accuracy.

Proficient with all Microsoft applications.  Working knowledge of 3PL warehouse operations, supply chain and transportation preferred. Previous experience with Synapse WMS system preferred.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).

Must demonstrate high level of interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes.   Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.  Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
