We're looking for an emerging product designer to help shape the interfaces of a live, growing platform. You'll create wireframes, mockups, and UI assets while collaborating with engineers and researchers.

HuCapital is an AI-powered community platform built for entrepreneurial creatives and professionals across the New York Metropolitan area. Powered by our AI superconnector Huey, we curate 1:1, peer group, and prompted matches designed to transform online connections into IRL collaborations. AI has fundamentally changed the way we work, and the most innovative projects and businesses of our time will be built by people who know how to use it together. HuCapital brings creatives and professionals together to unite their unique skillsets, collaborate on what is next, and build a better future. We curate popular IRL experiences, including our HuLane Traffic Light Mixer, Winning Women Conference, HuCapital Innovation Week, and more, each attracting 200 to 600 professionals and founders across various industries.

About the Role

The Product Design Fellow is an opportunity for a designer who wants real-world experience shaping the look, feel, and functionality of a growing AI-powered platform. Over three months, you will work alongside our Head of Innovation and a cross-functional team of engineers, UX researchers, and data engineers to design interfaces that serve a community of entrepreneurial creatives and professionals. This is hands-on, meaningful work. You will not be designing in a vacuum. Your contributions will show up in a live product used by real people, giving you the kind of portfolio material that demonstrates you can design for scale, collaboration, and impact.

What You'll Do

• Design Product Interfaces: Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and responsive UI designs that are aligned with HuCapital's brand guidelines and user needs.
• Develop and Maintain UI Assets: Build and contribute to a library of icons, buttons, and reusable components that support product features across the platform.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineers, UX researchers, and product managers to translate ideas and insights into interfaces that are both functional and visually compelling.
• Ensure Brand Consistency: Maintain visual identity across all designs and contribute to style guides and design documentation that keep the team aligned.
• Research and Iterate: Stay current on UI and UX trends, conduct light design research, and refine your work based on feedback, user insights, and evolving product priorities.

What We're Looking For

• Recently completed or currently pursuing a degree or bootcamp in Product Design, UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or comparable design tools.
• A portfolio that demonstrates UI design skills, design thinking, and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of design principles, user experience, and responsive design.
• A collaborative, communicative mindset with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
• Comfortable working remotely, independently, and delivering under a deadline.
• Bonus: You have an interest in AI, community platforms, or early-stage product development.
