ABOUT THE ROLE:

ALC is building an internal platform to automate its business-critical workflows with AI. As an early member of our new engineering team, you’ll help shape the platform at any layer of the stack and grow quickly alongside senior engineers. You’ll work closely with staff across the business to understand how they work, then ship services, tools and features that make their jobs easier.

WHAT YOU COULD WORK ON

• Build AI agents and tools that automate businesscritical workflows.
• Add or extend backend services.
• Design and improve frontend views and components. Manage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines as code.
• Shape how the team tests, reviews and ships code.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for early-career engineers who bring curiosity, care, ownership and a willingness to ask questions.

REQUIRED

• A degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0-2 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships.
• Solid programming fundamentals in at least one language, including data structures and when to apply them.
• Ability to model relational data appropriately for different access patterns.
• Strong debugging skills.
• Familiarity with Docker containers.
• Experience building web apps, including with coding agents.
• Clear written communication

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience building AI agents and evaluating their quality, such as writing evals or test sets for agent behavior.
• Experience with Go, Python, TypeScript, Postgres, Terraform, gRPC.
• Experience creating agent skills and using MCP.
• A personal, class or open-source project you can show us.
• Interest in finance and immigration.
