CPC: Certified Professional Coach
Certified Professional Coach (CPC), issued by Coach training schools, most often the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). 382 coaches in our directory list it.
- What it means
- A certificate from a coach training school, most often iPEC, whose ICF-accredited program awards the CPC. Several other schools use the same title.
- What it takes
- At iPEC: an ICF-accredited coach training program of about 9 months (three live multi-day modules plus weekly virtual classes, peer coaching and mentor coaching) ending in an oral exam in which the student coaches a client. Other schools set their own requirements.
- What it tells you
- A structured, school-issued coaching certificate with an assessment; it is not an ICF credential by itself. Ask which school issued it.
- Issued by

A coach listing a credential on their website is not proof they hold it: check it with Coach training schools, most often the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).
