# Settings **Settings is where you manage your password, control email notifications, configure privacy settings, set AI custom instructions for personalized content generation, and set application preferences like paper size for document exports.**  ## Account Information View your core account details: - **Account Email** - The email address used for login and notifications (read-only) - **Account Created** - When you first created this account on Callings.ai *To change your account email, contact support.* ## Changing Your Password To update your password: 1. Enter your current password 2. Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters) 3. Confirm the new password 4. Click **Update Password** You'll receive a confirmation email when your password is changed. ## Email Preferences Control which emails you receive from Callings.ai:  | Notification Type | What You'll Receive | |-------------------|---------------------| | **Daily New Job Updates** | Daily emails with new job matches | | **Weekly Action Recommendations** | Weekly tips and suggested actions for your job search | | **Product Updates** | Announcements about new features and improvements | | **Service Emails** | Password resets, security alerts, and billing notifications | Toggle each checkbox to enable or disable. Changes save automatically. **Tip:** We recommend keeping Service Emails enabled so you don't miss critical account information. ## Privacy Settings ### Analytics Consent You can choose whether to allow Callings.ai to collect anonymous usage data to improve the platform. Toggle the **Analytics & Usage Insights** checkbox to opt in or out. When enabled, we collect anonymous data about feature usage and performance. We never track the content of your resumes, cover letters, or personal communications. **We never sell your data or share it for advertising.** ## AI Custom Instructions **AI Custom Instructions is a global application setting that personalizes how AI-generated content is created across the platform.** Your instructions are automatically applied whenever you generate a new Custom Resume or Custom Cover Letter for any job, ensuring consistency with your preferences.  ### What Are Custom Instructions? Custom Instructions are personalized guidelines that influence how the AI generates content for you. They're injected into AI prompts when creating new Custom Resumes and Custom Cover Letters, allowing you to: - **Set language preferences** — Generate documents in your preferred language - **Define tone and style** — Professional, conversational, confident, humble, etc. - **Emphasize specific strengths** — Focus on quantified achievements, leadership, technical depth - **Highlight unique background** — Career transitions, international experience, military service - **Apply consistent formatting preferences** — Bullet point style, paragraph length, etc. ### Important: When Instructions Apply **Custom Instructions apply only to newly generated content.** They do not retroactively change existing Custom Resumes or Cover Letters you've already created. | Scenario | What Happens | |----------|-------------| | **Generate new content** | Your custom instructions are applied | | **Existing content** | Not affected by instruction changes | | **Update instructions, then generate** | New generation uses updated instructions | **To apply new instructions to existing content:** - **Regenerate** — Click "Regenerate" to create a fresh version using your current instructions - **Use the AI Editor** — Open the existing document and use the AI chat to request specific changes (e.g., "rewrite this in French" or "make the tone more confident") ### Setting Up Custom Instructions 1. Navigate to **Settings** from your profile dropdown menu 2. Scroll to the **AI Custom Instructions** section 3. Enter your instructions in the text field 4.
